Alexis Truslow, LMHC, is a licensed mental health counselor with over 30 years of experience. She is an interactive, client-centered therapist who provides support, strategies and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges and relationship issues. She considers the interrelationship between the mind and body paramount not only in individual treatment, but also in couple treatment. Specific areas of expertise include anxiety, trauma, stress management, parenting, LGBTQI+, trans, educational issues, health behavior, and military personnel.
In addition to the Bader-Pearson Developmental Model of Couples Treatment, she utilizes empirically supported treatment approaches, such as EMDR, Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples, and Motivational Interviewing. Her work is also informed by attachment theory. In this way she helps couples move beyond their challenges and realize the lives and relationships they desire.
Alexis also provides clinical consultation and she is a Certified Supervisor by the Massachusetts Mental Health Counselors Association. She has presented to state-wide conferences, schools, and general audiences on the topics of stress management, burnout treatment and prevention, trauma, combat trauma, EMDR, life coaching and adolescents.
When not helping people create lives rich in relationships, ease and purpose, Alexis can be found enjoying the outdoors or playing fiddle with her band.
