Bonnie McKee, LCSW

Welcome one and all! As a dynamic psychotherapist, I love to work with couples and individuals on relationship issues, trauma, anxiety, depression, work and career-related issues and other life goals. I believe in the potential for therapy to help clients heal and resolve issues in all areas of life. I love neuroscience and the concept of neuroplasticity - that all of us can change our lives and shift to empower ourselves. I personally work every day with the concept of shifting from anxiety and worry to more fun and joyfulness, and enjoy bringing those concepts into my work as well.

My therapy work at Couples Center is based on the Developmental Model, and I also integrate numerous therapeutic tools from throughout my career, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Emotional Freedom Technique. I enjoy using EFT in particular to help when people are struggling in the moment as well as on larger/longer-term issues such as grief and trauma.

My approach is compassionate, caring, respectful and non-judgmental. I work to create a safe space for all clients, so you can feel free to really dig in to what’s important to you. My passion is to utilize the most positive and effective therapy and coaching methods to help you create positive change in your life, and to be able to attain your goals.

I was born and raised in Eastern Massachusetts, and felt at home immediately in the Pioneer Valley when I moved here in 1980.  When I’m not at work, I can be found hiking some of the beautiful trails in western Massachusetts, and spending time with my family and friends.
